This Privacy Policy explains how Rent Easy (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the App. Rent Easy is a property-rental application that connects landlords and tenants. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information needed to operate the App:

Account information — your name or username, email address, password (stored securely), and your account role (for example, tenant, landlord, or administrator).
Property listing content — for landlord accounts, the property details you choose to publish, such as title, description, price, address text, and the photos you upload from your device.
App preferences — settings such as your chosen language (Khmer or English) and display theme, saved to your account so they follow you across devices.

We do not collect your device location (GPS), contacts, microphone, or any advertising identifiers. The App contains no third-party advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no Firebase/Google tracking.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and let you sign in.
To display, publish, and manage property listings within the App.
To remember your language and theme preferences.
To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection and stored on our own backend server (a Laravel application with its database). Photos you upload are stored on that same server so they can be shown in listings. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or third-party marketing companies.

4. Data Sharing

Information you choose to publish in a property listing (such as the description, price, and photos) is visible to other users of the App, because that is the purpose of a rental listing. Your password and login credentials are never shown to other users. We only disclose information if required by law.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request that we delete your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at the email address below. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable period.

6. Children’s Privacy

Rent Easy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and protected password storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
